This documents the process in making the Fish Bone Chapel.---Can mutation be generative of new forms instead of considered to be simply dangerous?---This project uses the mutations in Zebra Fish skeletons induced by toxins as a sculptural vocabulary to produce the Fish Bone Chapel.--- The architectural scale installation is based on Capucine Bone Chapels and traditional Christian Ossuaries found throughout Europe. originally they were a way to have a dialogue with the dead. Genomics research opens new stages between life and death. Zebra Fish are a popular model for genetic testing because they are technically not considered to be animals for the first 5 days of life.---The project was commissioned as a winner of the Designers and Artists for Genomics Award in collaboration with the Netherlands Toxico-Genomics Center. It will be exhibited at Naturalis Natural History Museum, Leiden (NL) on September 14, 2013.
